In my practice, I focus on the integration of EMDR, structural dissociation, parts work, and relational psychotherapy. I am also trained in brainspotting, deep brain reorienting, and ketamine assisted therapy, in which all can be blended into our therapeutic space.
Trauma impacts the brain and central nervous system in a way that is below the level of conscious thought. With the evolution of trauma focused therapies, such as EMDR, we are able to unlock memory networks and heal from psychological trauma. EMDR is well-researched and an empirically validated treatment that has immensely changed the way I practice and treat trauma!
I prioritize staying up to date on the most current research in order to maintain, develop and increase my competency to better serve the clients I work with. In addition, I actively participate in professional consultations and advanced EMDR trainings. Let me tell you, there is always so much more to learn and explore in the world of EMDR as it evolves! I firmly believe that it is essential to engage in ongoing training in order to be an effective therapist.
My clinical experiences include autism research, adult psychiatric inpatient treatment, mental health triage in emergency medicine, and community mental health. Additional clinical interests include complex trauma, depression, attachment issues, anxiety, and personality disorders.
